John Maxwell was born in 1944 in Hendon London. He started his working life in sales prior to taking on the role of managing director at the same company and later became a consultant before retiring at 66.
He then began writing seriously and wrote numerous short stories, currently unpublished. Ten a Penny Tart is his first novel.
In addition to writing he skilfully played the Saxophone and was known as "Johnny Max" and was a passionate Arsenal FC supporter for 50 years.
John was in the process of completing his second novel, but sadly passed away in 2023 prior to Ten a Penny Tart being published. His sharp sense of humour lives on in his writing.
