American soccer player currently playing for Carolina RailHawks in the
North American Soccer League. Schmid played both soccer and American
football at South Torrance High School, where he was a four-time All-Bay
League selection and member of 2004 Bay League championship team, and
played club soccer for the Irvine Strikers. He redshirted his freshman
college soccer year at the University of Washington, and transfsrred to
the University of California, Irvine prior to his sophomore season.
During his college years he also played with Orange County Blue Starin
the USL Premier Development League.
