Kristen Jamison is eleven years old when she is sent to live with John and Ellen Cameron and their three sons. Paul is kind. Ryan shares her love for music. Jay is the bane of her existence.



Enter...Ebony Rose Jamison, Kristen's older sister. The sisters have nothing in common except their dream of obtaining a singing career. After Rose wins top honors on Star Search, she organizes a band and convinces Ryan to join her, but a few days before the band is set to perform at its first 'career make or break' event, Rose disappears and leaves the band stranded.



There's only one solution to this problem. Kristen. After all, she's copycatted her sister's Aussie accent for years, she can sing, and they have professional artists who can make her resemble Ebony Rose. Kristen accepts the challenge and the band is an instant hit. They contract their first record label and become the most popular band of the decade.



Jay is convinced that Kristen spends time with the band because she's in love with his brother, Ryan. He's blinded by jealously, and can't see the truth when it's standing right in front of him. When the truth is revealed, Jay's angry reaction to it sets off a whole chain of events.
