Tololwa M. Mollel is well known for his colorful and lively tales built on traditional African themes. Tololwa is the holder of the R. Ross Annett Award, the Ruth Schwartz Award and numerous other honors. He lives in Edmonton, AB.
Kathy Blankley Roman has illustrated a number of Mollel's short stories for Cricket Magazine. She has been a student of anthropology, but perhaps it is her background in the theater arts that helps her react so creatively to Tololwa's storytelling tradition. Kathy and her husband live in Chicago, Illinois.
