As always, Diana Gabaldon delivers a beautifully written, immersive story full of emotional complexity and historical richness. I loved reconnecting with the characters and seeing their lives evolve in this new world. However, the pacing was undeniably slow in the middle with long stretches of daily life that, while atmospheric, didnt always feel necessary. One thing that did take away from the experience a bit was the oddly frequent mention of Briannas breasts. It felt excessive at times and distracted from an otherwise well-drawn character. That said, the final part of the book does bring a sense of resolution and emotional weight that makes the slower pace feel more purposeful. While not super action-packed, the quieter developments and character moments toward the end reminded me why Im invested in this series. It may not be a dramatic cliffhanger, but it still made me curious to see where the story goes next. 4 stars a slower installment, but still full of heart, history, and rewarding moments (even if we got a little too much of Brees anatomy).
