Yusef was born & raised on the Westside of Chicago. (Western Ave. & Harrison St.) Yusef was born in the house at 2313 w. Harrison St. & raised in the house at 2321 W. Harrison by His Father's parents, who were the perfect examples of Good Humanity, Roberta & John Branch Sr. Gave Pure unfiltered Love of wanting their grandchild to Succeed in life.
While the majority of Yusef's friends went to "Crane" Or "Manley," Yusef ventured off to George Westinghouse (Class of 89), Because it was a Vocational High School. His first choice was "Lane Tech," Although it was a straight shot north on Western ave. by bus, it was too far. Yusef started rapping & rhyming as an adolescent, Yusef & His friend "SCOOB" (R. i. P) formed a Rap group called: "The Westside Posse" in the 6th grade, But Yusef's passion For House Music & D. Jaying was a little more dominant.
But the seeds of Rhyming had grew & never left. Yusef's rap name was "Ice T," But where heard "6 in the Morning" by "Ice T" on 88. 1 WHPK , Latee immediately Changed his name to: "LA JackMaster T" and dove into Mixing House Music.
